DevOps Certification in Australia: Where to Start

If you are starting out in Australia, learn Linux, networking, Git and AWS through practical projects before attempting an advanced DevOps certification. CloudPros teaches those foundations, then delivery pipelines, Terraform and Kubernetes in a 20-week live programme with career support. Experienced AWS or Azure engineers can add a vendor certification to demonstrate their platform knowledge.

DevOps Certification in Australia: Where to Start

Start with the work you want to do

For a career move into cloud or DevOps, your first goal is to build, deploy and troubleshoot an application. A certification can support that preparation, particularly when it covers the platform you use. Live teaching gives you a place to ask questions, practise those tasks and get feedback on your decisions.

The CloudPros Australia programme brings these skills together over 16 core weeks, 3 recap weeks and a bonus MLOps week. You learn with Olakunle Abiola, a cloud and DevOps engineer with more than 11 years of experience, in a class of up to 15.

What CloudPros helps you build

Your course work connects the tools to a working system. You start with Linux, Git and Python, then use AWS to run an application. Docker packages it, a pipeline tests and releases changes, Terraform defines the infrastructure, and Kubernetes helps you operate the application.

Three useful pieces of portfolio evidence come out of that progression:

  • An application environment: code, setup instructions, access controls and a health check.
  • An automated release: a pipeline that tests a change, builds an image and deploys it, with a recovery procedure.
  • An operated service: monitoring, a diagnosed failure and notes explaining how you restored service.

These give you specific examples for cloud support, junior infrastructure and DevOps interviews. CV and LinkedIn reviews and mock interviews help you present that work clearly. The full curriculum shows the teaching sequence, and student reviews describe the learning experience.

When AWS DevOps Professional makes sense

AWS recommends at least two years of experience provisioning, operating and managing AWS environments for its DevOps Engineer – Professional certification. It suits someone who already works with AWS systems and wants to demonstrate advanced platform knowledge.

For a beginner, practical AWS work comes first. Learn permissions, networking, deployment, monitoring and recovery together. That gives later exam preparation a useful foundation: you can connect an exam scenario to something you have actually built or investigated.

When Azure DevOps Engineer Expert makes sense

Microsoft's DevOps Engineer Expert pathway requires AZ-400 plus either Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Developer Associate. It is intended for people with Azure administration and development experience.

If your existing team uses Azure, that pathway can build on your day-to-day work. CloudPros teaches AWS alongside widely used tools such as Git, Docker, Terraform and Kubernetes. The habits of reviewing changes, automating releases and investigating failures remain useful when you later work with another platform.
