Site reliability engineering bootcamp

Learn site reliability engineering.
Keep real systems running.

Site reliability engineers keep production healthy: they deploy safely, measure what users experience and find the cause when something breaks. CloudPros teaches those skills live, on a real multi-service application, from Linux and networking through to Kubernetes, observability and incident investigation.

Is CloudPros an SRE bootcamp?

CloudPros is a DevOps and cloud engineering bootcamp with a strong site reliability thread. Students deploy a multi-service application to Kubernetes on AWS, release it with Helm and ArgoCD, instrument it with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo and OpenTelemetry, then investigate a real incident from alert to root cause. CloudPros is a live online bootcamp: 20 weeks in total, made up of 16 core weeks, 3 recap weeks and a bonus MLOps week. Classes run live at weekends, with recordings, practical challenges and CV, LinkedIn and interview support. It has more than 100 graduates and is rated 5/5 from 50+ student reviews.

What you will build, week by week

  1. Weeks 1 to 4

The foundations every SRE relies on

Linux, shell scripting, networking, Git and Python for automation. Most incidents end in a terminal, so this is where reliability work starts.

  2. Weeks 6 to 9

    Repeatable builds, releases and AWS

Docker images and production container patterns, GitHub Actions pipelines with tests and deployment strategies, then AWS core services.

  3. Weeks 11 to 14

    Infrastructure you can rebuild

AWS automation with Python and Boto3, architecture design, Terraform modules and state, then Kubernetes on EKS: deployments, services, health checks and rollouts.

  4. Week 16

Safe releases with Helm and GitOps

Package services as Helm charts and use ArgoCD so Git is the source of truth, with drift detected and corrected automatically.

  5. Week 17

    Observability and incident investigation

Deploy Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and Tempo, instrument services with OpenTelemetry, build dashboards that combine metrics and logs, and follow a failing request through its traces to the root cause.

  6. Week 18

    Securing the platform

Policy as code with OPA Gatekeeper, secrets from AWS Secrets Manager through the External Secrets Operator, RBAC, NetworkPolicies and a live security incident investigation.

Recap weeks 5, 10 and 15 consolidate each module, and bonus week 20 applies the same deployment and operations skills to machine learning systems. See every session on the curriculum page.

Who this suits

People moving into SRE, DevOps or cloud operations roles from IT support, system administration, QA or software development, and engineers who already work near production and want the hands-on Kubernetes and observability experience employers ask for. You do not need DevOps experience to start.

What it is not

CloudPros is not a Google SRE certification, and it does not replace years of on-call experience. It gives you the technical base that SRE roles build on, and a portfolio project that shows you can deploy, observe and fix a real system. Service level objectives, error budgets and incident write-ups are covered in our free guides linked below.

Questions people ask

What is the difference between SRE and DevOps?

DevOps is a way of working that brings development and operations together so software is delivered quickly and safely. Site reliability engineering is a role that applies software engineering to operations: it sets reliability targets, measures them and automates the work of keeping systems healthy. The day-to-day tools overlap heavily: Linux, cloud, Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure as code and observability.

Can I become an SRE without experience?

Most people reach SRE roles through DevOps, cloud, system administration or software engineering work first. A practical bootcamp shortens that path by giving you hands-on experience with the tools SRE teams use, plus a portfolio project you can talk through in interviews.

What tools does an SRE need to know?

Linux, networking, Git and a scripting language such as Python; a cloud platform such as AWS; containers and Kubernetes; infrastructure as code with Terraform; CI/CD; and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana and OpenTelemetry. CloudPros covers all of these.

How long does the CloudPros course take?

20 weeks: 16 core weeks, 3 recap weeks and a bonus MLOps week. Live classes run at weekends and every session is recorded.
