Pull request
A practical DevOps definition, with an example you can use.
A proposal to merge one branch into another, with a place to review changes and discuss checks before integration.
An example you can picture
A learner submits a pipeline improvement with a description, test evidence, and a small diff. A reviewer can comment on a specific line before approving.
The distinction that matters
Opening a pull request does not merge it. Repository rules determine which checks and reviews are required.
Put it into practice
Open a practice pull request with one small change. Write the reason, test evidence, and a known limitation in its description. Ask what a reviewer would need to understand without speaking to you.
Connect the ideas: git and ci cd. For the bigger picture, read the related learning guide.
